Asia's longest-running drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya made history on Thursday, December 6, after being declared as the Best Single Drama/Telemovie at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore.

MMK's winning episode is "Kotse-Kotsehan," which was a two-part episode which tells the story of a mother's love for her children, featuring Kapamilya stars Angel Locsin and Dimples Romana.

The award was received by MMK business unit head Roda dela Cerna who extended her gratitude to the mothers who shared their story to MMK.

MMK host Charo Santos took to social media to express her gratitude to the award-giving body for the recognition.

"Congratulations @mmkofficial for winning the Best Single Drama at the 1st ever Asian Academy Creative Awards! We made history! I am so proud of all of you! It is the best Christmas gift! Thank you for all your hard work, your passion and your love!  To all the letter senders, maraming salamat sa pagbabahagi niyo ng inyong magagandang kwento na puno ng aral at pagasa.
