Prepare to laugh out loud with Pokwang’s films on ‘Tuesday Comedy’

Comedy movies have been an integral part in the cinematic experience of many Filipinos. With a nation like ours who like to laugh, comedy films are instant hits among moviegoers. This month, Cinema One is paying tribute to one of the most renowned comedic artists in the country. This month’s “Tuesday Comedy” block gives the spotlight on Pokwang. With her years of experience in the industry, Pokwang continues to deliver movies which make the nation giggle, guffaw and laugh out loud.

On August 14, Pokwang stars in the movie "Call Center Girl." It tells the story of Teresa, who accidentally lands on a call center job where her daughter Regina is employed, giving her a chance to rekindle her relationship with her. In the call center, she meets people coming from different walks of life - fun-loving Richie, young-living Lolay, prim and proper Martin, and their monster Team Leader Vince. The movie also stars Jessy Mendiola and Enchong Dee. With a thriving BPO industry like ours in the Philippines, a lot of televiewers would definitely relate to Pokwang's character in the film.

Meanwhile, Pokwang stars in a movie which stresses the essence of truth in relationships in the movie "My Illegal Wife" airing on August 21. Pokwang headlines the film with Zanjoe Marudo, which tells the story of Clarise (Pokwang) who desires to have a husband. Accident leads her to wake up, finds herself in an island with Henry (Zanjoe), who has an amnesia. Clarise takes advantage of the situation and introduces herself as his wife.

Two of the country's best comedic actresses Pokwang and Eugene Domingo stars in the hit movie "D' Lucky Ones" airing on August 28. The movie revolves around the story of best friends Tina (Eugene Domingo) and Lea (Pokwang) who are die-hard “Vilmanians.” Before Lea leaves for Korea, the friends swear to marry off their children Lucky Boy (Joseph Bitangcol) and Lucky Girl (Sandara Park) who hate the idea having disliked each other since childhood. Just when Lucky Boy and Lucky Girl are starting to fall in love, Tina and Lea call off the arrangement after a bitter conflict over a man they both desired.
